Taking a Stroll around the neighborhood |
Delilah has been a sweet little baby since day 1. I have loved watching her grow and develop everyday. I can not believe that she is almost 6 months old. I know... I say it every month, but this is a BIG one. It's her half birthday. I guess I should start planning her 1st birthday now since like her mom and dad, she is a holiday time baby. I don't want her 1st birthday, or any of her birthday's to get lost in the holiday shuffle.
I have loved every stage of her development, but right now might just be my favorite. She smiles ALL the time. She wakes up, she smiles, you look at her, she smiles, she is exhausted and fighting to stay awake, she smiles. My husband asks me all the time "is this normal"? She is a really happy baby.
Along with her sweet smile, she babbles and now giggles. She seems to have new sounds every day now. I love looking in on her when she doesn't know that I am watching and she is babbling away to her elephant, owl or dolly.

Watching the big kids play, wishing she could get out and run |
The Captain, also know as Grand Papa, El' Papedo or my dad, is back in town from his 5 month exploration in Mexico. Hopefully he will stick around for a while because Delilah is loving having him back and so are we.

This week I will be taking Delilah's 6 month milestone pictures. She will be 24 weeks this Thursday. In 2 weeks, Delilah will be having a professional photo session again with Gina Cristine and I can't wait to share them with all of you. I have been having so much fun styling this photo session.
Delilah has been swimming and seems to be loving it. When she gets a little nervous, she just puts her thumb in her mouth and relaxes in the water.
Eating has been a lot of fun for Delilah. She loves to eat and gets so excited at the sight of food, anyones food. She will steal your food right out of your hand, plate or your spoon. She has moved on from baby oatmeal to sweet potatoes, peas, carrots, bananas and prunes.
She still sleeps in our bedroom in her bassinet and I don't see anything wrong with that. I know that a lot of people have strong opinions on when a baby should leave your room and sleep in their crib alone at night, but this is what feels right to me. She enjoys her crib, and takes most naps in it and pretty soon she will no longer fit in her bassinet and will have to go into her room. For now, these last few nights that she can, I'm keeping her next to me in her bassinet.
Awesome baby, awesome parents....we are all so incredibly blessed.
